SISTERS FIVE ANCESTRY
Pansy, Rena, Kathy, Marsha and Jennifer are the progeny of the large families of Jasper Leroy "Red" and Helen Taylor Dubberly. They were raised on a six hundred acre farm that their parents managed and worked on shares. They spent most of their youth prior to leaving for college working in tobacco or cotton fields and truck crops as well as tending to livestock developing a strong work ethic. As recently as 2010, each had fifty living first cousins. With the encouragement of the farm's owner, Ms. Olga Baker, Pansy was the first of the direct line of their ancestry to go to college and each of the sisters has acquired at least one four year degree with eight degrees among them. Those values were passed to the next generation, who are self-sufficient with various university degrees and professional skills.
In later life, Red enjoyed viewing late afternoon and evening farming traffic and visiting friends that he would see from the chair in the foreground. It remained in place after his death until Helen left the premises to live in Savannah, GA in 2009. Sadly, a wiring defect and fire caused the home's destruction as well as that of the adjacent boiler shelter in 2024 while its occupants were away at church. Its memories will survive well into this century.
